The festival is held annually in Omaha. Elmwood Park is transformed into a delightful setting for families to enjoy free productions of Shakespeare's plays performed by a professional company of artists from around the country. Twelve performances are held outdoors.

River City Roundup and Rodeo
Come fall at the AK-sar-ben Coliseum, the River City Roundup and Rodeo, with championship rodeo action, takes place as part of a regional event. This annual event is held the third week in September and features nearly a week of action-packed fun for all ages. The entire community joins in this celebration of the region's agricultural and western heritage. On Saturdays, events are centered downtown with a two-hour parade in the morning and free riverboat, canoe, stagecoach, pony, and other western rides. The rodeo and large 4-H show and livestock exposition offer a close up view of farm and ranch life.
