Whether you're watching, playing, or arm-chair quarterbacking, Omaha is one sports crazy city. Professional baseball and arena football attract fans from all over. In 2008 Omaha will host Olympic swimming, March Madness, NCAA Championships and PGA golf. If you're the athlete there are plenty of hockey rinks, tennis courts, hiking and biking trails, swimming, boating and loads of fishing.
Benson Park Dill Softball Complex Four fields, fully lighted and enclosed. Expanded parking. Improved restroom facilities and concessions available. League and tournament use only.
Benson Park Ice Arena The ice arena is an indoor multi-purpose facility that operates Oct 1-Mar 31. Features a 185x80 ft ice surface. Public skating, learn to skate programs for youth and adults, figure skating school, hockey and broomball offered. The ice arena can be rented for private use.
City of Omaha Aquatic Facilities - Indoor Pools Traditional pools - with shallow depths, baby pools and deep depths for diving. Leisure pools - family oriented with zero depth access and/or play equipment. Several other locations are also open June-mid-Aug.
City Wide Sports Offers competitive opportunities (tournaments and leagues) for adults in basketball, baseball, volleyball, broom ball and flag football. Youth basketball leagues are offered year-round. City Wide Sports also governs assignments of various sports fields.
